The FEC shield may be used only by FEC clergy in good standing, or by ministries and communities officially recognized by the denomination.
Regarding clergy in good standing:
Clergy in the Free Episcopal Church who are abiding by the Constitution of our denomination and are in regular communication with the bishop are issued either a Letter of Faculties or a License that is renewed every year (usually in the month of March). If there is any question about a clergy person’s standing in our organization, feel free to ask for his/her current documentation or contact the Presiding Bishop by phone or by e-mail.
